[He's turned to spot himself in a little mirror above the kitchen table and clapped a hand over his huge glowing red nose. After the shock wears off, he pulls the hand away again, to reveal himself looking even more sullen.]

[Inara usually waits until she hears Lorne singing in the mornings to venture out of her room. This morning he sounds like he's got a cold. She steps out into the kitchen, grabbing for her tea set before she actually looks around to Lorne.]

Did you stay out in the cold too long, Lorne? You sound as if you've got a--

[That's when she notices Lorne's nose. Her first thought is it's a curse and her hand goes to her nose.]

[Lorne huffs miserably and turns to pour himself a cup. When he turns back, he's clearly having trouble drinking out of the mug with his big nose in the way.]

I'm okay with curses, overall. Sure, if I ever meet a deity I'll punch him or her in the face but still! This is just mean and humiliating.

[Inara starts making tea. At Lorne's words, she stops then leans in and kisses Lorne's cheek.]

Hold on just a moment.

[She disappeared into her room and returns a moment later with the tip of her nose painted with bright red lipstick. She smiles at Lorne]

I'll get an ice pack ready for your hand should you ever punch one of the deities.

[He glumly sucks down more coffee as he waits for her to return and when he sees the nose, he tries to stay mopey.]

Well now we both just look silly. At least you're gorgeous regularly!
